Could Not Open Descriptor File Remove From Project Problem – Solved!! part 2

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Now I will tell you again how to solve the Failed to open descriptor file problem. I wrote a post about this before, it may help you fix the problem for your game, try it first, you can read it here.

Now I faced this problem again. And this time it was a little different and my previous solution cannot fix this issue. A few days ago I was trying to play Rogue Company. And I saw that this problem could not open the explanatory file appeared again. But this time there is a message at the bottom of the error, I think it was showing a file location that was causing the problem, which is RogueCompany/RogueCompany.uproject .

I was trying to run this game from Epic Games Library. And every time I tried it, Rogue Company game crashed without launching giving this descriptor file .uproject issue. The thing is, when I tried to solve it with the previous methods I mentioned in the other post, it behaved strangely. I tried many actions, uninstalled and reinstalled the game from Epic Games Library but the game was not working properly. Repair buttons, uninstall buttons were not working. The game icon seems to be faulty. I couldn’t uninstall the game. After trying for a long time, I found only one solution. Here is how to fix the descriptor file .uproject not opening issue –

** Find the driver where the game is installed.

** If you are unable to uninstall the game, delete the game’s installed files folder directly from the drive where you installed it.

The Folder Where Rogue Company Was Installed On My Computer

** If you are using Epic Games Launcher, after deleting all files, close the launcher and run it again (Restart Launcher). You will see that the game will not be in the “installed library” section of the Epic Games Launcher.

** Now try reinstalling the game. A fresh install of the game will fix this issue for you. He did it for me. Definitely, it will work for you too.

When the game shows this error, repairing the game’s files may fix it. But in my case the repair option was not working properly so I couldn’t fix it. The Epic Games Launcher seemed to be causing the problem somehow. If you can repair your files from the launcher, your problem will be fixed immediately. If not, you need to do the above process to get rid of this error.

It’s a shame that you uninstalled and reinstalled the game. But this is the only solution I’ve found for now. If there is another solution, it will let you know.

I hope you find this useful. Thank you very much for reading my blog.
